  まだ研究開発段階だが、発電時にCO2を出さず燃料も海水中に豊富な、エネルギーと環境の課題を同時に解く次世代エネルギーとして期待され、各国が開発を競う。ITER計画等の長年の蓄積とプラズマ対向機器等の強みにスタートアップの革新技術も取り込み、世界に先駆けた実現と国内技術基盤の確立を目指す方向。
